Here are a few other things that are predicted in recent research to look out for if you own a property on the Costa del Sol:

Global Travel and Tourism Spending will increase – According to the 2015 Global Travel Price Outlook, global travel and tourism spending in 2015 is expected to rise by 8.6%, related to the rise of emerging markets like China, India and Brazil, as well as an increase in established and strong markets.  Good news for those renting their homes on the Costa del Sol.

More people searching and booking on smart devices – Smart watches, tablets and phones are all growing in popularity and more and more people are finding out about destinations in this way and making bookings. This means that in 2015 social media, images and videos will be increasingly really important for reaching them, as well as secure and easy online booking facilities to encourage them to book and pay.

Increasing demand from British buyers – According to a report by Alfredo Milla from Sonneil.com, British buyers were not big players in the Spanish property market last year, compared to Scandinavian countries and other Northern European buyers. However he believes that we should expect British demand to rise as the UK unemployment rate has dropped, the exchange rate is stronger, the Office of National Statistics expect the GDP to grow by 2.8%, nearly to the levels of pre-recession times. That would certainly be a welcome return for the Costa del Sol, which has really missed the Brits, both as holidaymakers and buyers.
