Owners of property in Marbella who are reliant on tourists for their rental income can be sure that the Town Hall are working hard this week to promote the area as a top destination at this year’s World Travel Market (WTM) in London. As part of their packed schedule of events, they have extended their agreement with British Airways to promote the destination and bring more British tourists to the area.
The Andalucia Tourist authority is going all out this year, with 27 stands, nine of which are dedicated to the Costa del Sol so it is sure to make a real splash. Local newspaper Sur in English produced a special WTM supplement and took 10,000 copies to the show, as well as inserting the special supplement into two local London newspapers, so that local businesses could reach out to the valuable London market as well and you can read it on their website.
The Costa del Sol’s presence at the fair is just one of a number of promotional initiatives to further broaden the appeal of the area and make sure it is always on the tourist radar. The busiest summer since records began and a large number of people still on the streets and restaurants suggest that it’s doing the job and bringing more people than ever to enjoy this stunning destination.
