The Costa del Sol is a wonderful place to have a second property, as the weather’s excellent, the beaches and sports facilities are great and in many areas you can operate almost entirely in English. Unfortunately when it comes to issues with the Town Hall, local authorities and rules and regulations on driving, taxes, wills, car registration the bureaucracy can be very frustrating and clear information and support in English hard to come by.
We are delighted to find that there’s an inexpensive service which gives year round support for all manner of financial, legal and administrative issues. It’s called the Costa Advice Bureau and for an annual fee of 95€ they are available for face to face meetings and telephone support if you’ve got a query. They can sort a lot of things for you on the phone with service providers, look over documents, tell you what you need to do to register and even go with you to the local police station if required.
If the problem requires more in depth professional help from lawyers, accountants etc. they have a network of trusted people they can put you in touch with, so it’s a fantastic service to have at your disposal.
