Tourists looking to holiday on the Costa del Sol from over 100 destinations in 25 countries can easily fly into Málaga airport, or choose Gibraltar if they are staying on the Western Costa del Sol, so there’s definitely no shortage of travel options. Due to increasing demand from tourists, who are being put off other destinations due to instability, both airports have seen new routes opening up this year and there are even more coming, which will be a great boost to anyone who owns a property here and wants to rent out their property short term.
Ahead of the peak summer season, Delta resumed their direct flights between Malaga and New York with daily flights which will run all year round. This should be a great source of new tourism coming from the US. Ryanair recently announced that they will be launching a new route in February next year to connect Malaga to Aberdeen twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, which will be a boost for the area as it’s popular with North Sea oil workers.
Gibraltar is also becoming an increasingly viable option, with BA’s existing route from London Heathrow to Gibraltar and both EasyJet and Monarch expanding their offerings. Monarch introduced a London Gatwick to Gibraltar route in May which runs four times a week and adds to its flights into Gibraltar, from Luton, Manchester and Birmingham. EasyJet just launched a new service to connect Manchester and Gibraltar twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays and adds to their existing Gatwick and Bristol routes.
All of these routes into the Costa del Sol and increasing tourism numbers offer massive opportunities for generating income from your property.
